Investor capital is pooled through Benchmark Real Estate Fund and deployed into residential real estate across West Michigan, creating an opportunity for disciplined investing with local oversight.
Every deal is evaluated on a number of factors including borrower creditworthiness, collateral strength, and loan structure — combining 80+ years of local judgment with disciplined data-driven analysis.
Fund income is disbursed quarterly to Class A members — 85% of distributable cash, paid pro-rata within 45 days of each calendar quarter end.
After approximately 5 years of capital deployment, the Manager begins an orderly disposition of assets with final net distributions returned to members.

With 42 years of experience in West Michigan real estate, Matthew has built a career solving financing challenges that traditional banks won't touch — from credit-challenged buyers to non-conforming investment properties. He leads Benchmark's investment strategy and manages the borrower and investor relationships that drive the Fund.
A former CEO of a local community bank, Todd brings deep expertise in risk management and investor relations to Benchmark. He oversees the Fund's financial operations — including investor reporting, financial reporting, and quarterly distribution calculations — with the discipline of a seasoned banking executive.
